Congratulations, Peter! Just don't forget to keep the grinder running while adjusting to a finer setting. Mine got me worried a couple of times when it was newer because the grinder sometimes got stuck after adjustments were made while the burrs were not moving.  :-\

I am stoked.  This beauty was delivered this afternoon.  I wanna be like staylor when I grow up.  Next on the list is a Brewtus II.  Well, maybe.  For now, I'm going to dial the Macap in and do some side-by-sides with my KitchenAid Proline, to see how a pourover, presspot, and aeropress fare.

That kitchen Aid is nothing but a useless boat anchor.

I collect useless boat anchors, BTW.   :D

Gotta be the first to warn ya... when the honeymoon is over, it'll be right back to the daily grind. ;)

I'm jealous. I think that's the same unit MiloWB has and it's way quieter than my Rossi, with infinitely more steps.

I have a Rossi RR45 too, and you're right; way too loud.

I don't think you'd want to lug that thing around.  But if you're serious, we can talk.

I know!  I'll trade you for greens!   ;D

And that's only $1530USD.

If I can find a new hopper that's short or a hopper that fits and can be shortened, I may just put the boat anchor up for sale.  Even the useless ones should fetch a good price, and I have an unused set of burrs for the KA.  You all here will be the first to hear about it.

I refuse to shave my legs.

The same folks I bought the Macap from had a commercial 1-group Brasilia for sale too that I missed by a day.  They bought it three years ago for $3500, used it rarely at home, and sold it for $850.
