Hurricane Milton
« on: October 07, 2024, 06:48:18 PM »
Folks it looks like I am going to get slammed here.  I don't see how I come out of this one without any damage.
But at least I won't flood, so there is that positive.

With that being said, and past experiences.  Power may be out for a week or more.  That means the UPS store can't run their computers and I may not be able to ship, because they can't scan it in.

I simply don't know how this will play out.

I will let ya a'll know how I did on the other side of this event, but be aware that shipping might get jammed up for a bit here.  I'll do my best but please be patient because it's going to be a train wreck all over the state the way it's looking.

Thank you for your understanding.

Aaron

Hello everyone:
I am back.

Well, the hurricane missed me, thank god and thank you for all your prayers for Florida and our people!

Ive been helping a friend out who was on the west coast and got clobbered pretty bad.  Been helping with restoration and clearing the roads, cutting tree branches, stuff like that,  the usual after a major storm.

well wouldn't you know it,  I get back home on sunday and my neighbor comes over, we chat and he goes, oh, they delivered some of your mail to my house, here it is.  It's been sitting on my table for a few weeks I forgot about it.  Well, ok thank you.

turns out the mail that was sitting on his table was a summons, I had jury duty and had to report the very next Morning !!

Man that would have sucked, having a warrant because you didn't show up for jury duty.  screw that.

Anyways, I was  picked so got to go home monday night to show up tuesday morning first thing.  The clown decided to take a plea at the last second,so they sent us home, duty completed tuesday.

so here I am, wednesday and trying to get this back order cleared up.  I am going to work all day today on getting the coffee packed and OUT.

USP no longer has an office down the road from me, so ill have to have them come pick it up now or drive it 20 miles to the closest station.  This means that actual deliveries to them, by me,  are only going to happen once or twice a week now instead of daily.  I can't pay 7 dollars a day for them to come get your packages, if it was a bunch of people, no problem, but when it's only one order for   5 lbs of coffee, adding 7 to your toal is unacceptable.  This way I can grab a bunch of sacks at a time, and not have to raise prices at all because it's all blended in already due to volume.

They also are charging for using a credit card now, so i had to go thru all the bullshit of setting up my bank account with them for auto withdrawl of the money to pay for it.  Why can't things just be easy.  EVERYTHING is designed to F over YOU the customer... sigh.

Here use a credit card, it's convenient.  Bullshit.  You are charging ME 4 percent to use the SOB, then charging me 14 to 18 percent interest if I have a balance on it.  That is flat out robbery!  I try to use them as little as possible.

anyways, let me get caught up here, get all the orders OUT then get this coffee posted Ive been sitting on for a week.

thank you
aaron

Aaron, you're amazing. Everyone has to help each other in a crisis like that. Im glad you're okay, and impressed that you're back in business. All my coffees came through and they roast like a dream. Thank you,
Susan
