You can also get super strong magnets out of old hard drives. They are odd shaped though but for free or nearly free don't complain heh.
The star screws on them are typically a number 7 torx. Bit of a pain in the ass finding that size sometimes but Harbor freight generally has them for a few bucks.
The rest of the drive is recyclable too. aluminum 40 cent a pound, platters, 3 to 8 dollars a pound, circuit board, about 8 dollars a pound, plastic 35 cent a pound for abs, motors about 18 cent a pound or maybe can sell them as cull aluminum for slightly more.
Just throwing in two cents where it probably is not cared for ..
