That's what I thought too, Woody. Except it was a spinning reel my Grandpa gave me
But as much as I want one, $245 is pretty expensive for a hand grinder.
That's just lovely. Reminds me, for some reason, of a high end turntable. But as much as I want one, $245 is pretty expensive for a hand grinder.
Even tho' you crank it by hand, based on everything else that's out there, it's almost not far to call this a hand grinder. Here's why I say that; every other hand grinder seems to take forever and your arm gets tired pretty fast. My Compak has similar burrs (68mm, but who knows what the cutting edges are on mine vs. the Pharos), it spins at 300rpm, and can churn out 16g in about 5 seconds. So say you crank the Pharos at 100rpm, you'd have enough for a double in about 15 seconds. 15 seconds seems very doable compared to a Zassenhaus.
Ummm . . . it looks like the back inner portion that houses the burrs is boxed in by 3 long screws that run the length of the whole grinder. Any idea how you actually get the coffee out of the thing once it is ground?
It sort of looks like the kind of thing a super villain keeps his super-distructo goop in.
