I think I love it.  But then I love anything with 68mm conical burrs.

It should be like 10X faster than any other hand cranker.

Awesome :-) that's cool. the first reels were made by jewelers who could manufacture intricate gears. I've often wondered about step up (or down) gears for coffee grinders. Some of the saltwater reels I have are heavy duty!

Even tho' you crank it by hand, based on everything else that's out there, it's almost not far to call this a hand grinder.  Here's why I say that; every other hand grinder seems to take forever and your arm gets tired pretty fast.  My Compak has similar burrs (68mm, but who knows what the cutting edges are on mine vs. the Pharos), it spins at 300rpm, and can churn out 16g in about 5 seconds.  So say you crank the Pharos at 100rpm, you'd have enough for a double in about 15 seconds.  15 seconds seems very doable compared to a Zassenhaus.

Ummm . . . it looks like the back inner portion that houses the burrs is boxed in by 3 long screws that run the length of the whole grinder. Any idea how you actually get the coffee out of the thing once it is ground?

You hold it over whatever you're dumping into, and rap it on the back with the supplied rubber mallet.
