I done did it!

So, when it comes to a new machine, I've decided to go for the best of both worlds. I really want a HX for convenience, but gotta give the lever thing a shot.  Considering the fact that I'll be putting 2 machines in the kitchen, I've just ordered a PV Export from Vanelis. 

Should be here next week.  LeverLand, here I come!   When do I get the secret decoder ring?

nice!!!  the Export makes a great mobile cappa machine for trips or parties away from home.

For convenience, there's a perfect Mini Vivaldi on the BST.  My first real machine was an HX and it
didn't last a month before I switched to a double-boiler.

Congratulations Sosha...excellent plan having a HX and a lever.  I know you're going to love the Export.  The footprint is small enough so you'll have plenty of room for your HX as well.  When you have both machines in place, try pulling shots on both during the same session with the same coffee.  When I have time, this has become my new routine for pulling shots...using either two different levers or a lever and the HX.  Generally, I find subtle differences from lever to lever.  So far, I am finding greater variation from HX to lever.  I used a Rocket and a Sama Export with an El Salvador coffee most recently.  I served the boyfriend an Americano from the Rocket first.  For his second cup, I gave him an Americano from the Export.  I asked him which coffee he liked best.  His response:  "Both cups are excellent (he's a smart man  :)) but I know you like the 1st cup better (brighter and more fruit flavors) and I like the second more (smoother and slightly sweeter with light chocolate)."  He was surprised when I told him it was the same coffee for both cups.
