I've taken to leaving the camera on my phone set to the lowest resolution so that all my pictures will be forum ready (I can even post from the phone that way). I'll increase the resolution for pictures I really care about.
Yakster,
Thanks for the tip!! It should make a big difference., I'll try it next time I roast!
Nice job on the gas retrofit JW. Two needle valves on the setup? Have you seen the youtube video on the Huky500 where the he shows opening the air valve?
Hank,
Thanks!! The one needle valve came with the stove. I don't use it, I just leave it wide open and use the one before the pressure gauge. I watched the video about 20 times before I bought it. The one problem it that the fan is so strong with the damper fully open it'll pull a few beans into the vent. After I dump the beans to cool, I just blow into the vent with door open and they come right out. It hasn't effected the back to back roasts at all and so far I haven't forgotten.
I roasted a Harar this past weekend and it turned out really good.( cupped it today) While roasting the fan pulled bean fragments and really small underdeveloped quaker beans into the chaff collector. I didn't mind as it saved a little bit of culling, but it gives you an idea of how strong the fan really is.
