My girlfriend got me a Hario Slim/Aeropress this month for my birthday. I know that this is a pretty popular combination for travel coffee but I was wondering if anyone knew if there might be an issue taking the grinder as a part of my carry on luggage vs checking a bag? We're going to be flying to see family for Christmas and having never traveled with a grinder of any kind before, I'm a little bit curious/nervous.
I'd really like to avoid a fee for bag check (or more importantly any hassles at security) if possible so if anyone has any experiences with this they could share, it'd be really helpful.
